"Tuesday Happenings" is a weekly series on Tuesday nights, curated by iconic pianist and friend of Sam First, Gerald Clayton. The house band performs one set at 7:30pm which is immediately followed by a jam session from 9:00-11:00pm. Clayton will not be leading this performance but has arranged for long-time collaborator and drummer Justin Brown to lead in his place!
Born in Richmond, California (USA), drummer Justin Brown is one of the most versatile and sought after drummers of this generation. A longtime collaborator with Ambrose Akinmusire, Thundercat, and Flying Lotus, he’s also been a key contributor to the music of Esperanza Spalding, Avishai Cohen, Terence Blanchard, Bilal, Vijay Iyer, and many more.
