Los Angeles saxophonist Tom Luer brings his group “Project Popular” to Sam First for their first show since the lockdown. Tom is a D’Addario performing artist, a member of John Beasley’s Grammy nominated MONK’estra, and a faculty member at California Polytechnic University in Pomona.He is joined by recent Grammy winner John Beasley on piano (MONK’estra, Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard), Edwin Livingston on bass (Natalie Cole, Ellis Marsalis) and Dan Schnelle on drums (David Benoit, Billy Childs). Project Popular explores Tom’s originals and more.
