Max Gerl Trio

Bassist and composer Max Gerl brings his electrifying trio back to Sam First! With Cameron Graves and Mike Mitchell, Gerl will be playing two sets of all new, original music. The trio will be fresh out of the studio, as they are recording Gerl's next album the week prior. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music, Gerl has performed internationally at the Monterey Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, etc. He has performed or recorded with Stanley Clarke, Jordan Rakei, Makaya McCraven, Talib Kweli, Tia Fuller, Emily Bear, Bernard Wright, and Blaque Dynamite. He released his debut album as a leader, “Tbilisi”, in December, 2019.
