Marcel Camargo's "September Songs" (in November)

"September Songs is the first live showing of an experiment I conducted back in September of this year; the idea was to write a one-minute tune per day in the space of an hour or so (I posted these clips on my Instagram page). The time limit made for really concise statements and not having the luxury to overthink the composition made the music more intuitive and more accessible than how I normally write. It also made the music more humorous than usual - the tunes have titles like Imaginary Girlfriend and $7-coffee-hang, to give an idea of the essence of the project. Once the music was written it was time to try it with a band! I thought it would best translate live with this group of musicians; much like the music, they’re having the most fun while also being dead-serious about their intentions."
