Six extraordinary young musicians from around the world were selected for the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA Class of 2026. House band performs one set at 7:30pm followed by a jam session from 9:30-11pm.

"Tuesday Happenings" is a weekly series on Tuesday nights, curated by iconic pianist and friend of Sam First, Gerald Clayton. Clayton is out of town for this performance, but has arranged for the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance to be there in his place. The house band performs one set at 7:30pm which is followed by a jam session from 9:00-11:00pm.
Six extraordinary young jazz musicians from around the world were selected for the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA, Class of 2025. The group recently began their intensive, full-scholarship program in September 2023 and will attain a Master of Music in Jazz Performance degree from The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music – one of the nation’s top music schools – in spring 2025.
