Drummer Kevin Kanner has spent his career performing and recording with the likes of Gerald Clayton, John Pizzarelli, Eric Reed, Bill Hollman, The Clayton Brothers to name a few. Band performs one set at 7:30 followed by a jam session from 9:00-11:00pm.

"Tuesday Happenings" is a weekly series on Tuesday nights, curated by iconic pianist and friend of Sam First, Gerald Clayton. The house band performs one set at 7:30pm which is immediately followed by a jam session from 9:00-11:00pm. Clayton is out of town for this performance, but is arranging for long-time collaborator Kevin Kanner to lead in his place.
Kevin Kanner, a native of Southern California, started his relationship with Jazz at the age of 12. By the age of 15 he was under the tutelage of the great Jeff Hamilton, who become a serious mentor and musical father figure to him. At age 20, Kevin was the first drummer to ever receive the Los Angeles Jazz Society Shelly Manne new talent award, an award given out by Flip Manne, Shelly's widow.
