Tone Forest cultivates a fresh sound that is adventurous, lyrical, and grounded in a deep sense of beauty and groove. Miro Sprague, Marty Jaffe and Jason Ennis are longtime friends and collaborators all originally from Western Massachusetts. Together they formed this cooperative trio in 2018 to create an opportunity to write and perform new original music exploring shared interest in jazz, world music, and free improvisation. With a focus on tone clarity and a rich sonic blend, the trio strives to truly improvise together, creating unique musical textures and using a wide range of grooves ranging from samba to swing and much more. In August 2024 they released their debut album of all original music, most of it composed specifically for the trio.
