Grammy Nominated for Best Latin Jazz, The RodBros Band a.k.a The Rodriguez Brothers has performed worldwide at prestiges jazz festivals and clubs including; Newport Jazz Festival, Monterrey Jazz Festival, Bremen Music Festival, Jazz Baltica, Rochester International Jazz Festival, Taischung Jazz Festival, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Bluenote Jazz Club, The Jazz Standard. Also, Since their arrival in NYC, Robert and Michael have individually collaborated with many notable Jazz artists and legends such as; Roy Haynes, Charlie Haden, Ray Barreto, Eddy Palmieri, Arturo Sandoval, Paquito D’Rivera, David Sanchez, Wynton Marsalis, Joe Locke, Carla Bley, Chick Corea, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Richard Bona, Harry Conick Jr., Christian McBride, Maria Schneider, Quincy Jones and many others.
The RodBros Band was formed in 2002 and has produced 4 critically acclaimed recordings that have led to worldwide performances and teaching residencies in colleges and universities.
Their new recording “Impromptu” (crisscross1381) has earned them a Grammy Nomination for “Best Latin Jazz” and further explores original compositions employing Afro-Cuban, South American and Jazz elements. The collaboration between brothers Robert and Michael are rounded out by a stellar group of musicians who happen to be childhood friends, bassist Carlos Henriquez, drummer Ludwig Afonso and percussionist Samuel Torres.
