A native of East St. Louis, Illinois, Terreon Gully is the newest addition to the Marcel A. Desautels Faculty of Music Jazz Studies Program. A renowned artist and drummer, Professor Gully teaches drumset, jazz ensembles and jazz history. In addition to teaching, Professor Gully performs and records extensively. When not busy with the Christian McBride Band or Stefon Harris and Blackout, Professor Gully finds time to squeeze in working with such artists as Dianne Reeves, David Sanborn and Queen Latifa as well as a host of other artists. Professor Gully also performs with his own group as well, being one of the featured artists in the 2008 Bonn International Drum Summit in Bonn, Germany. Professor Gully is known for his exceptional work in the studio, recording for CDs, films, and commercials. Recently, Professor Gully recorded new CDs with Blackout and Japanese jazz pop star Toku. In addition to performing and recording, Professor Gully’s musical abilities expand to include writing, producing, and arranging.
