Vibraphonist Nick Mancini has been performing professionally since the age of 15. He earned his masters from Manhattan School of Music and spent 10 years honing his craft in NYC before relocating to Los Angeles. Under his own name, he’s released 9 cds; the two most recent, FRAMES and Reverence, feature his 9-piece Collective. He's performed and recorded with a wide range of artists including; Arturo Sandoval, Kamasi Washington, Peter Erskine, Kenny Werner, Postmodern Jukebox, New York Voices, Poncho Sanchez, Grace Potter, and Solange; to name a few. As a bandleader he's released numerous recordings and played in top venues in NY, LA, and around the world. He's successfully curated multiple concert series’ including 5 seasons of his, ‘elastic hour’. Mancini is a sponsored artist with Majestic Percussion (vibes) and Innovative Percussion (mallets). In 2008 he was named LA Vibes Summit Honoree and in the same year was invited to join the faculty at Cal State Northridge and Long Beach. He has taught private vibes lessons at The Thelonious Monk Institute, and has maintained a private teaching studio for over 2 decades. He is a widely recognized and respected band leader, and an in demand sideman for gigs and sessions throughout the Los Angeles creative music scene.
