Jazz pianist and composer Michael Ragonese brings his quartet to Sam First—featuring bassist Luca Alemanno and drummer Anthony Fung—in support of Chasing Calm, his much-anticipated third album, releasing October 10, 2025. Recorded in Los Angeles with a powerhouse lineup including Walter Smith III (sax) and JK kim (drums), the album offers a deeply personal exploration of inner peace, blending modern jazz, classical textures, and dynamic improvisation. Recognized by All About Jazz as “a propulsive and unpredictable trio,” and as one of the most compelling young jazz pianists on the scene, Ragonese has performed and recorded with legends including Barbra Streisand, Ben Wendel, Mark Turner, Dayna Stephens, and Walter Smith III.
