Born and raised in LA, Haymer studied music in sunny Orange County, California with Legendary Pianist of Miles Davis - Kei Akagi. During that time, he had won numerous awards from competitions such as the Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition, Great American Pianist Competition, and the Horace Silver Piano Competition. After his studies, he moved to New York City to continue his career and was lucky enough to record and perform with numerous greats such as Mike Stern, Greg Hutchinson, Joel Frahm, and Cindy Blackman. Haymer also spent 3 years as the Music Director for the Music Theatre of Connecticut. Haymer moved back to Los Angeles in 2012, and has re-created a musical home for himself there - blending modern jazz styles with traditional repertoire. He is currently touring internationally with Jane Monheit as well as Grammy-Award Winning Arturo Sandoval. When not supporting these artist, Haymer leads his own group. He has headlined at all the clubs in the LA area - Catalina's, Blue Whale, Vitellos, Vibratos, and countless others - and has also recently headlined the Jazz in the Pines Festival this past summer, as well as the Coachella Valley Jazz series).
