Martin Nevin is a NYC-based composer and bassist who has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally with artists including Albert “Tootie” Heath, Billy Hart, Greg Osby, Ethan Iverson, and Aaron Parks. His debut album, Tenderness is Silent, was praised by bassist Larry Grenadier as “one of the best new recordings I have heard lately…the music conveys strong emotions and reverberates to the heart.” His work spans a wide range of projects, from the song cycle Scratch at the Same Table to the electronic release A Drowsy Shadow. Most recently, he released a trio album featuring pedal steel guitarist Luke Bergman and drummer Jason Burger. For this performance at Sam First, Nevin is joined by guitarist Joshua White and drummer Christian Euman.
