Marcello Carelli Trio “This Thing Called Love” with Christian Sands, Darek Oles + special guest Lila Forde

Drummer, composer, and arranger Marcello Carelli has played with Grammy award-winning musicians such as John Daversa and Brian Lynch in both small group and big band settings. He has also played with Eric Reed, Dave Liebman, Ira Sullivan, Martin Bejerano, John Beasley, Wycliffe Gordon, Shelly Berg, and Troy Roberts. Marcello has performed to sold-out crowds in Italy, Suriname, and the Netherlands in addition to giving masterclasses in those countries. He is also a Downbeat Award-Winning Composer and Arranger which you can hear on his debut record The Era. Marcello recently earned his master’s in jazz studies at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music under the mentorship of 2-time Grammy award-winning drummer and composer, Peter Erskine.“Whatever Marcello decides to do from here on out — playing, composing, teaching — I have no doubt that he's going to succeed beautifully,” Erskine wrote. Marcello has also studied with Dafnis Prieto, Roy McCurdy, and Will Kennedy. It’s the two year anniversary of the release of his debut album The Era, but there are also a few exciting new projects in the works.
