Lauren Ellis Quartet with Nicole McCabe, Michael Orenstein & Corbin Jones

For the very first time, Lauren Ellis will be bringing her quartet to Sam First in her debut as a leader. This show will feature an accumulation of original material and arrangements by Lauren drawn from new creative influences and experiences since living in the US. Originally from Aotearoa (New Zealand), Lauren stamped her mark on the Wellington scene leading and playing for a number of well-known groups before moving to Los Angeles in 2019 to study with Peter Erskine at USC's Thornton School of Music. Lauren is now an active and busy member of the LA music community as well as an accomplished composer. In 2022, Lauren was named winner of the APRA AMCOS New Zealand Best Jazz Composition award.

All shows at Sam First are 21+ (no one under the age of 21 will be permitted)
