Jeremy Siskind's Housewarming Trio: "Songs of Rebirth" CD Release Celebration

Jeremy Siskind's Housewarming Trio is a jazz trio that moves with the grace of a chamber ensemble and sings with the soul of the singer-songwriter movement. Siskind, vocalist Nancy Harms, and woodwind specialist Lucas Pino create music that  ranges from “literate and spry” (NY Times) and “transparent and lovely” (Downbeat) to “wry and saucy” (Bebopified) and “uptempo and hilarious” (StepTempest).  On their new release, the double album, Songs of Rebirth, the trio performs works contemplating renewal with both art and humor, drawing upon source material ranging from philosophy, biology, and psychology to literature, mythology, and history. Songs of Rebirth is the result of a 2020 New Jazz Works grant from Chamber Music America, a competitive program that selects about fifteen ensembles per year for support through a blind panel.

Pianist-composer JEREMY SISKIND is “a genuine visionary” (Indianapolis Star) who “seems to defy all boundaries” (JazzInk) with music “rich in texture and nuance” (Downbeat). A top finisher in several national and international jazz piano competitions, Siskind is a two-time laureate of the American Pianists Association and the winner of the Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition. Since making his professional debut juxtaposing Debussy’s Etudes with jazz standards at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall, Siskind has established himself as one of the nation’s most innovative and virtuosic modern pianists.
