Greg Spero's SPIRIT FINGERS

SPIRIT FINGERS (formally Polyrhythmic), is led by pianist Greg Spero with Max Gerl on bass, Mike Mitchell (aka Blaque Dynamite) on drums, and Dario Chiazzolino on guitar. Since its inception SPIRIT FINGERS has been a dynamic ensemble of uber-talented young musicians whose energy, passion and innovative approach stake out exciting new territory for exploratory music which is visible on their self titled debut album released on March 16, 2018 on Shanachie Entertainment. Spero's ambition is powerfully manifested in SPIRIT FINGERS; as a pianist, producer, and bandleader, Spero has explored various genres including jazz, hip-hop, modern classical music and pop, he exhibits the tenacious pursuit and commitment to excellence that separates the journeymen from the pioneers.  The 12-song disc showcases SPIRIT FINGERS as they concoct exploratory and evocative soundscapes that often combine the muscular virtuosity and rhythmic intricacies associated with the best of 70s jazz fusion (think George Duke, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, and Weather Report) with some of today's pop and hip-hop sensibilities (think The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna). SPIRIT FINGERS is unique as each member of the band is an accomplished bandleader in their own right, which lends to their live show which is a SPIRITED innovative improvisation unprecedented by other acts.
