After nearly two decades went by, drummer Gary Novak discovered that he still had the original copies of the music he had played and recorded with the great Chick Corea in the early nineties and decided to form a band in order to re-visit and breathe new life into the material. In addition to Corea’s music, the group also pays tribute to other favorites that Novak grew up playing with his father as well as material by his dear friend, the late great saxophonist, Bob Berg. Novak, Reynolds, Sirota, and Gurrola share a symbiotic approach to music and collectively supply the repertoire with organic artistry and raw energy. They always provide an exciting experience and should not be missed for their Sam First debut.
