Devin Daniels, picked up the saxophone at the age of 11 and has been playing ever since. Devin has been a part of many jazz bands and groups including the Southern California Honor Jazz Band, Thelonious Monk/Los Angeles All City Jazz Band and Combo, The Fernando Pullum Jazz Band, The Colburn School of Music Combo and Big Band, The Los Angeles Youth Jazz Ensemble, Jazz America, and the Bill Green Mentorship Program. He’s performed with these bands at places such as the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, The Blue Note in NYC, The Roxy Theatre, the Wilshire E. Bell Theatre, The NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center, Club Nokia Live, Catalina’s Jazz Bar and Grill, Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the Blue Whale jazz club, Vitello’s Jazz Club, and Central Avenue Jazz Festival at the Dunbar Hotel. Devin has worked and performed with artists such as Billy Childs, Donald Vega, Donald Dean, Marvin "Smitty" Smith, Ralph Moore, and Miguel Artwood Ferguson. Devin was a music scholarship recipient of the 2015 Young Arts Jazz Finalist Program, The Vandoren Young Artists Competition (2nd Place), Spotlight Music Center Awards in Los Angeles, the Charles Dolo Coker Jazz Scholarship Foundation, Performer of the Year at Hamilton High School, and the Berklee Jazz Workshop Scholarship. He was one of three other finalists to be in the Dave Brubeck Institute Quintet. Devin was also one of five kids in the nation to study at the Berklee College of Music as a Presidential Scholar.
