The Daniel Szabo Trio mostly plays originals, blended with arrangements of jazz standards. This time, presenting some brand new compositions, Szabo hooks up with two of his favorite players: Luca Alemanno, on the bass, and Dan Schnelle, on the drums. Schnelle also played on Szabo's latest, quintet album, "Intersections", released in 2023. Pianist-composer Szabo has a unique tone, showing multiple influences, including his Central-Eastern-European roots. He has toured worldwide and collaborated with such giants as Peter Erskine, Chris Potter or Kurt Rosenwinkel. His chamber jazz album, “Visionary”, was selected by JAZZIZ as “Best Albums of the Year 2019”, alongside Brad Mehldau and Esperanza Spalding. Invited by Chick Corea's management, Szabo was one of the three Corea-mentored pianists who premiered Chick's jazz piano concerto, alongside John Patitucci and Dave Weckl.
