Pianist/composer Daniel Szabo's music shows a deep connection to jazz as well as his Eastern European roots. Szabo's performing/recording credits include greats Peter Erskine, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Chris Potter, the latter of whom Szabo performed with at Sam First in 2018. His chamber jazz album, “Visionary”, was selected by JAZZIZ as “Best Albums of the Year 2019”, next to Brad Mehldau and Esperanza Spaulding. Invited by Chick Corea's management, Szabo was one of the three Corea-mentored pianists who premiered Chick's jazz piano concerto, alongside John Patitucci and Dave Weckl. His latest quintet album, “Intersections” (2023), features a stellar line-up of LA-based musicians.
