Daniel Rotem & "Wise One": Celebrating the Music of John Coltrane

First premiered in the summer of 2017, Daniel Rotem’s “Wise One: Celebrating the Music of John Coltrane” is dedicated to honoring the legacy and compositions of the legendary musician, approaching the music from the spiritual side. Inspired by Coltrane’s music as well as his ideas and writings (and specifically as they are documented in the book ‘Coltrane on Coltrane’), Daniel uses Coltrane’s songs as both the vehicle and the looking glass – paying respect and celebrating the man behind the music while also finding a way to look inward and forward, in an attempt to align with a positive musical power – “a force for good”.

In this special performance the band will premiere two new arrangements as well as announce their upcoming release.
