Clay Jenkins Quintet

Trumpet player/composer Clay Jenkins’ career as a jazz artist has covered a wide range of musical experiences and responsibilities, bringing him to the forefront of the jazz performing and teaching arenas. Clay’s experience as a performer began at an early age, playing and recording with the Stan Kenton Orchestra.  In 1978 Clay moved to Los Angeles, where he was in demand as a performer and studio recording musician, and toured with the big bands of Buddy Rich and the Count Basie Orchestra.

As a charter member of the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and Joe LaBarbera Quintet, Jenkins brings his group of musicians from Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York to Sam First for his debut performance as a leader on August 19-20.

All shows at Sam First are 21+ (no one under the age of 21 will be permitted)

Show Times: 7:30pm & 9:00pm, and a separate ticket is required for each show.
