Chris Lewis is an American saxophonist, composer and educator. Born in Uniondale, NY, he first started playing music and singing in his local church. He was encouraged to play the saxophone by his uncle, who also plays the instrument, and first introduced him to jazz by giving him an album by the great Charlie Parker.

Chris graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2018. While at Temple, he was mentored by and studied with Terell Stafford, Dick Oatts, Tim Warfield, Ben Schachter, and others while also immersing himself deeply in the Philadelphia jazz scene.

Chris has had the opportunity to play in various notable stages in the United States, Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands, working and/or recording with Delfeayo and Branford Marsalis, Eric Reed, Jeremy Pelt, Carl Allen and various others. He currently attends the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance, studying under the musical direction of Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter.

Chris strives to be in a continuous state of growth and curiosity, learning from those who inspire him and aspires to create music that will touch people on an emotional and spiritual level.
