“Friendship is vital,” says GRAMMY-nominated pianist, keyboardist, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! band member, Jeff Babko. “The spirit of camaraderie is crucial to a greater collective of shared ideas, laughter, and to be sure, music.” Regarding Babko’s latest project, an album titled Clam City—featuring the trio of Babko on keys and Bowie’s Blackstar rhythm section and fellow GRAMMY nominees Tim Lefebvre on bass and Mark Guiliana on drums—the spirit of camaraderie is the mission statement itself. Recorded over the course of two nights at Los Angeles’s bustling Sam First jazz club, Clam City finds the trio whose names have graced the liner notes from the likes of Steely Dan, James Taylor, Toto, Brad Mehldau, and Donny McCaslin blending each of their unique voices live on stage in an act of musical exploration.

To celebrate the digital release of Clam City, Babko and Lefebvre are returning to Sam First for a special performance on September 18th. Rounding out the “Clam City” band on this occasion will be fellow improv-astronaut, drummer Zach Danziger!

All shows at Sam First are 21+ (no one under the age of 21 will be permitted)

Show Times: 7:30pm & 9:30pm, and a separate ticket is required for each show.
