Alec Schulman is an award-winning young pianist and composer from Los Angeles. After spending two years in Montreal, studying at McGill University, Alec has been getting international recognition for his music. Alec’s original compositions have been featured in NY based radio WBGO as an emerging artist for their unique voice. Among several awards, Alec won the LA Music Center’s Spotlight Jazz Instrumental Competition, where he played an original composition at Disney Hall which also received a DownBeat Award. Drawing on a wide range of influences from the jazz tradition and beyond, Alec’s compositions and playing evoke a maturity and original voice beyond his years. Joining Alec in the collective are some of the most in demand players in Los Angeles.
