Austrian pianist and music scholar Hans Groiner, best known for "correcting" the music of Thelonious Monk, rings in the holidays with beautifully sanitized arrangements of Xmas songs and more!
Hans Groiner, the reclusive Austrian pianist and self-proclaimed foremost authority on “correcting” the music of Thelonious Monk, began his musical studies by rearranging local folk songs to remove what he termed “wrong notes”. After graduating from the Konservatorium für Verwirrte Musiker, he embarked on a career devoted to refining jazz by smoothing out its rough edges, and “focusing on Major chords”. In 2010, Groiner received the prestigious Triad Award, and in 2011 he misplaced it.
Hans Groiner is a comedic persona created by American jazz pianist, organist, and composer Larry Goldings.
