"Tuesday Happenings" is a weekly series on Tuesday nights, curated by iconic pianist and friend of Sam First, Gerald Clayton. Clayton is out of town this week and has arranged for trombonist Ryan Porter to lead in his place. The house band performs one set at 7:30pm which is immediately followed by a jam session from 9:00-11:00pm.
Los Angeles-based trombonist, Ryan Porter is a founding member of the West Coast Get Down jazz collective. A longtime collaborator of Kamasi Washington, Porter has also toured with Stevie Wonder, Rihanna, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
