Described as a “pianist with superhuman coordination,” Los Angeles-based Milen Kirov is an award-winning Bulgarian-American pianist and composer with an inimitable artistic voice and celebrated creative output. Combining his Bulgarian music heritage and concert pianist background with American jazz and blues, Milen has carved out a thriving career as a unique and respected artist. On his latest solo album “SPATIUM” (ICSM Records), Bulgarian modes and odd meters, supported by chromatic gestures and classical structures, bump flirtatiously into blues licks and jazz harmonies, thus creating a union of cultures that is deeply personal and wholly distinct.
