"Gerald Clayton & Friends" is a new weekly series curated by iconic pianist and freind of Sam First, Gerald Clayton. The house band performs one set at 7:30 which is immediately followed by a jam session. Gerald will be out of town for this performance, but has arranged for long-time collaborator and modern saxophone icon, Logan Richardson to host the evening on his behalf. The house band performs one set at 7:30pm which is immediately followed by a jam session from 9:00-11:00pm.
Logan Richardson, is a native son of Kansas City, Missouri born, and raised (b1980), Logan Richardson is considered by topcritics as a breath of fresh air for the future of music. A young star pushing the boundaries of modern improvised music, carrying the torch of vitality for improvised music as a premier alto saxophonist, composer, producer, and educator.
